Hide details...Karen Buhler Artist Lecture January 8, 2009 at 6:30pm: held in the Pratt Studios Pratt Fine Arts Center welcomes accomplished artist Karen Buhler as a part of Pratt’s Master & Visiting Artist Program. Buhler began working with glass in 1980 while studying at Ohio State University. She holds a BS in Horticulture and her glass art explores figurative sculpture and the joy of the human experience. She has held assistantships at the Studios at Corning and Pilchuck Glass School and has taught flameworking at Pratt Fine Arts Center and Pilchuck.

The Tale Of Tam Lin, The Elf Knight - Family Concert!

Hide details...With the help of four Seattle musicians, Marta Zekan of KING FM delivers the story of Janet, a princess who wanders into an enchanted forest and finds she must rescue Tam Lin, an elfin knight forced to serve an evil faery queen. In the style of Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf,” the characters of this Celtic tale are represented by different instruments: flute, cello, piano, and percussion.
This performance is part of the Seattle Chamber Music Society's Winter Festival.
The show will be preceded by a musical instrument “petting zoo,” to be held in the Benaroya lobby at 2pm, courtesy of Music Center of the Northwest.
